Time Traveler Privacy Policy

Time Traveler collects no personal data. It has no account, no tracking, no analytics, and no ads, and its developer never receives information about you.

On your iPhone

Time Traveler saves only your settings, and only on your iPhone:

• your city clocks and handedness
• the 24-Hour Time, 24-Hour Dial, and Minute Markers switches, and the Turn Step
• the currencies you chose for the converter
• the last exchange rates the app downloaded

None of this is sent to the developer or anyone else. It is included in your iPhone's own backups, like any app's settings, and deleting the app deletes it.

Location

Time Traveler never asks for your location and never uses GPS, the compass, or motion sensors. It reads only your iPhone's time zone setting and uses it on your iPhone: for the LOCAL clock, the sky behind the clocks, the starting temperature, and the local currency. The time zone is never sent anywhere.

Exchange rates

The currency converter is the only part of Time Traveler that uses the internet, apart from Apple's App Store. When you open the converters or choose a currency, and newer rates are out (about once a day), the app downloads the day's rates from ExchangeRate-API over an encrypted connection.

The request asks only for the latest rates in US dollars. It carries nothing about you, your iPhone, or your settings. As with any internet request, ExchangeRate-API's server sees your network's IP address; its terms and privacy policy cover how it handles that. Offline, nothing is sent and the app uses the last rates it has.

Purchases

Time Traveler Plus is bought, restored, and refunded through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment under Apple's privacy policy. The developer receives no payment details and no personal information, only Apple's sales reports, which don't identify you. Your iPhone keeps the purchase, so it works offline.

Crash reports

If you turn on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's Privacy & Security settings, Apple may send the developer anonymous crash and usage reports for Time Traveler. You can turn it off there at any time. The app itself sends no reports.

Children, changes, and contact

Time Traveler is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
